Welcome and thank you for checking out my bio!
I'm passionate about anti-violence work. The spark lit for me when I volunteered at a women's drop-in centre as a teenager. I met, listened to, and spoke with many women who shared their stories with me. I learned about their experiences of violence and oppression as well as their resistance and resilience, their strengths and their hopes. This spark turned into flame as I trained and started to work in the community as a social worker and continued on to train to become a counsellor. I've worked in the anti-violence field as a counsellor since 2012 and I'm grateful and honoured to the amazing women, folks, and communities that have helped to keep that flame within me steady and strong today.
My education includes a Masters in Counselling Psychology from City University of Seattle and Bachelors of Social Work from the University of Victoria. I also completed an indigenous focused Associate of Arts in Social Work.
During my time in the anti-violence field, I've completed multiple trainings for working with survivors of violence and trauma and continue to pursue opportunities each year to continue my training and connect with others to collaborate, share our collective knowledge and deepen our collective work.
