LIA provides information, resources, and referrals to support folks as they navigate their journey of continuing to walk a path of accountability, healing, and well-being.
Counselling
LIA is honoured to work with folks who have chosen a path of accountability and well-being and do not use any form of violence in their present life. LIA honours each client's dignity, capacity, and provides a safe space for clients to feel supported as they continue to navigate toward their journey on the path of accountability and well-being.
LIA works with folks who are on the path of accountability and non-violence and have not used any form of violence for at least 2 years. For folks starting their journey of change and seeking support please see our resources section below for counselling & resources available in the community.
Accessing Counselling
LIA is pleased to provide a variety of options to support increased access to support. Clients can either self-refer or be referred by an allied health professional.
LIA provides in-person counselling sessions at our Burnaby office location, secure video sessions,
and confidential phone sessions.
Frequency of sessions and length of treatment varies and reflects client's needs and interests.
Clients can access LIA through private pay, FNHA, or in some cases partial coverage through extended health.
